1999 Triumph Adventurer 900 Triple - The Adventurer is a cruiser-ish version of the Thunderbird. Comes with canvas bags and is equipped with Triumph Offroad aftermarket pipes. It's got a great growl and good pickup. VIN: SMT394DJ9XJ078876I have had this bike about 9 years. I've taken it on a couple longer rides, but mostly short hour long highway runs. It's a great bike, and there aren't a lot of them left out there in purple. The only "issue" is the taillight is loose. It works, it just jiggles, and I don't want to pull it apart to see what needs to be tightened. The engine in the Triumph Adventurer is one of the best incarnations of the original big Hinckley triple. The 885cc motor has been detuned from Trident and Trophy spec to give even more low down oomph. Wound open the Triumph Adventurer's engine sounds like a squadron of Lancasters and with restyled chromy and curvy engine cases it looks the business too. A classic. From around 1993 onwards, Triumph quality moved on apace – and it certainly shows with the Thunderbird and Adventurer. Paint and chome is thick, fit and finish is generally good and those early triples are basically over-engineered so are tough as old boots too.
