Bentley's Azure convertible has been a popular sister car to the
Rolls-Royce Corniche, because without Rolls' trademark 'Parthenon'
grille shell, the Azure is considered less pretentious. Otherwise,
they are essentially the same car, but the Bentley has always had a
more 'sporting' nature, with firmer ride, alloy wheels and
blackwall tires. This '97 model is powered with a 6.75 liter
intercooled turbo V8 providing nearly 400 horsepower and huge
torque. When you put the pedal down, this beauty moves! The design
was so successful that the car remained basically unchanged through
2003.
This Azure lived in Florida originally, but then spent the next
dozen years in Palm Springs, always receiving regular, documented
dealer servicing. CarFax shows no accidents or other worries and
the car joined a car collection in Idaho for a couple years before
coming to our dealership. Having never been in the midwest, the
undercarriage is clean and rust-free, the beautiful Peacock Blue
paint is very nice, the original Parchment leather interior is
lovely and the walnut veneers are in good nick. Recently the
steering rack was rebuilt at the SoCal shop that serviced the car
for years.
Factory options included dark blue carpets with matching piping on
the seats plus a wood-rimmed steering wheel. We have the original
owner's manual, master & valet keys and the original tool kit is in
the trunk. Knowledgable prospects will be pleased to learn that the
hydraulic pumps and valve lifters are quiet and the dash pressure
lights extinguish within the prescribed time. We have just serviced
the height control units, too. Although the title is marked
'exempt' due to the car's age, it is believed the 42K miles are
accurate-and are supported by the CarFax.
The car runs & drives very nicely and represents a huge value
compared to its original MSRP of $330,000!! (back when
three-hundred grand was a lot of money). Enjoy it today and look
like a millionaire for only $39,500!
If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on
our website, be assured that coming for a personal visit to inspect
first-hand the car that has captured your fancy is very welcome. We
practice transparency in all of our descriptions, but believe that
nothing is as convincing as seeing and touching the car yourself.
Plan a few hours, so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car,
and enjoy a tour of our restoration shops to see 'where the magic
happens.' If your schedule is too committed, we also welcome a
knowledgeable agent visiting for you. Please understand that sales
are final, so the time for all due diligence is before you buy. Our
cars are sold AS-IS, since most are on consignment from owners. We
follow FTC guidelines for all sales and certainly want our future
clients leaving more glowing reports among our reviews!
