I bought this 560SL in California last year, and shipped to Virginia. I intentionally purchased the 560 SL from California to avoid rust issues. The car has never been in snow and has no rust on the frame. I also rust proofed it just in case.
All body part numbers match!
This 1988 560SL from the desirable years of 1. It drives, handles and sounds like a true classic benz. I take it for a highway run every weekend, as recommended by the Benz mechanic. Its a joy. It is my daily driver when the weather permits.
Comes with hardtop and softtop, both in good condition. Car is garage kept.
Very cold AC and heat
It comes with a single din (can be removed and any standard radio can be installed). I had Carplay, android auto, high quality sound system and rear view camera installed. CarPlay (for wireless calls and navigation and to play music), Spotify..etc. It is ceramic coated, and a highest quality window tint. I invested over $10K for these additions.
It has a scratch along the right side (see photos), that happened when I accidently left the car in Neutral and the car rolled down the driveway against the mailbox. I didn't want to paint over it so it wouldn't look like I'm hiding something under the paint.
I took it to the Benz mechanic once when I bought it to have it inspected, and it didn't require any kind of work. I also took it once more for an oil change.
A small indication that this 560SL has been well maintained is that the termperature guage works as seen in the photos. it is very rare to see this guage functioning on any of the SL-Class cars.
I have owned this car for about 1.5 years. I purchased it for 30K, spent 4K for shipping and 10K on the ceramic coating, tint, sound system and CarPlay/Android Auto. I don't want to give it away but we have a new car in the family and I need the garage space.
This 560SL is exceptional and a rare find and a bargin for whoever purchases it!
