This 1987 Dodge Power Ram 250 (W250) Pickup is a really cool truck
with an interesting history. This is an extremely low mile survivor
truck in amazing original condition. This truck was used as a brush
fire truck for the Herrin Fire Department until it was retired in
2017. This truck was obviously well cared for and spent its life
indoors. These trucks are always well maintained when they are
owned by Municipalities and this one also had $4,000 of recent
maintenance done to it to keep it road worthy and ready to drive.
This included a new brake master cylinder and new brake booster.
The body on this W250 is super clean and straight. The Graphic Red
paint looks excellent and appears to be all original and the
graphics also are original. All of the original chrome and trim is
in excellent condition. The front bumper is a dealer installed
winch bumper with a working 12,000 pound warn winch. The underside
of this truck is also extremely clean and we found no rust issues
with this truck.
The interior is all original and in excellent condition. The seat,
dash, dash bezel, door panels, and headliner are all excellent!!
The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals are all
working. The gauges all work. The heat, horn, and windshield wipers
are all working. This is just a beautiful example of a clean
original interior for a truck from this era.
Mechanically it doesn't get better than this. This truck starts
easy, runs great, and drives wonderful. It is a really tight truck
and fun to drive. The engine is the original 5.9L 360 V8 that runs
strong with no issues that we found. It is totally stock. Part of
that $4,000 maintenance included a new radiator, new hoses, new
thermostat, and coolant flush. The transmission is the np435 4
Speed manual that shifts nice with a good clutch. It is mated to
the np208 transfer case which was gone through and resealed
recently. The 4WD works like it should. It has a Dana 60 rear axle
with 4.10 gears and a limited slip. The front axle is also a Dana
60 with 4.10 gears. This is all sitting on a nice set of aluminum
wheels with 285/75/16 Mud Terrain tires. What a cool truck for
someone to own!!
