Description

Up for auction is a beautiful 1984 Harley Davidson FLT Tour Glide with factory sidecar.  Very early Evolution engine, 5 speed.  Numbers matching frame, engine and sidecar.  I purchased this bike about 3 years ago from who I believe was the second owner.  It was in running condition at the time but in need of an overhaul.  The sidecar was removed and both the bike and car were gone through.  The engine was a bit underpowered especially in the mountains so the following was done...83 cu. in. big bore kit with 10.5:1 forged pistons, Screamin' Eagle hi torque camshaft, roller rockers, S&S Super E carburetor, Sampson slip on fishtails, Sifton diaphram clutch with Barnett wet/dry clutch discs.  This bike now has plenty of power and can bury the 85 mph speedometer needle if you're foolish enough or brave enough to go that fast.  Cruises comfortably at 65-70 miles an hour all day long.  Both the bike and the sidecar received new tires, all brakes were cleaned and adjusted, new windshields were installed on both the bike and car.  The original burgundy and gray paint shown in the pictures was ok, but pretty worn and faded.  One year ago the bike was repainted in Harley orange and black race colors.  The original pain scheme was kept and custom tank decals were made to replicate the originals.  The orange paint is a metallic pearl and is beautiful.  It is awesome to look at and gets compliments every time I have it out.  The seat and sidecar upholstery are original and still in very nice shape.  This bike is not a trailer queen or show pony, it gets ridden from time to time.  2 years ago I took it on a 1500 mile trip to Minnesota and back.  It ran perfectly, no issues.I have all the original owner's manuals, service manuals and parts manuals for the bike and the car plus a tub of original parts that were removed when the upgrades were done.  There are a couple of minor mechanical items to note.  The start button had worked intermittently, but then quit.  This was a common problem on a lot of Evos as the wire was undersized.  The start button was relocated under the seat with heavier gauge wire and works great.  Also serves as kind of an anti-theft device.  Also, the fuel gauge sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.  Both of these should be relatively easy fixes but aren't necessary.  Everything else mechanically and electrically work as they should.  Clear Colorado title in my name.  26,458 original miles on the chassis, approximately 2,000 miles on the engine upgrades.  This is a no reserve auction.  Please feel free to contact me with questions.
