Description

BEAUTIFUL BLACK 1983 JEEP CJ-8 SCRAMBLER, NICELY RESTORED, 4-SPEED, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES READY TO SHOW AND GO!!!

These Jeep CJ-8 Scramblers were just rated by Hagerty Classic Car Insurance as one of the top Bull Market vehicles for 2024 so now is the time to grab one!  This is basically a long wheelbase version of the CJ-7 with the utility of a cargo bed. Fewer than 30,000 were produced between 1 and this gorgeous Black 1983 is sure to be a family favorite and a great investment.

We are selling this CJ-8 for a local gentleman who has owned quite a few Jeeps and other classics over the years and has decided to downsize his collection and make this one available to the next lucky owner, maybe you?!

He originaly purchased this Scrambler in 2007 out of Texas and said that while he and his sons drove it a bit, the Jeep needed quite a bit of mechanical and electrical work so it basically sat in his collection for years.  In 2020 he decided it was time to bring this Jeep back to its glory. He always loved these in Black so he had the body professionally repainted changing the original Red Color. Hard to deny that these look fantastic in Black and the new Scrambler Stripe Kit really looks great.  This was a Southern truck its whole life spending time in Louisiana, Texas and Georgia so rust was not an issue. Acording to the owner the fornt grille, bumpers, side view mirrors, fender flares and pretty much all fo the eterior trim was replaced at the time it was repaiinted.  The paint and body look excellent as you will see in the photos and video. This CJ-8 will draw all the attention you can handle and is ready for the local cruise-ins and shows if that is what you enjoy.

After the Scrambler was professionally repainted, the interior was also completely redone including new seat covers, dor panels, carpeting, glove box, gauges, and dash knobs, and weatherstripping. An OEM replacement Speedometer was also installed as the old one had stopped working.  A Custom Autosound stereo was added in the original radio hole. The interior looks basically brand new and factory correct.

This Scrambler is powered by the legendary 4.2L inline 6 cylinder mated to the 4-speed tranmission.  About $16,000 was spent to make sure this Scrambler was in tip top shape mechanically and electrically. I am attaching copies of the receipts for all the work done but basically everything from suspension, braking, belts, hoses, fluids, and complete wire harness were replaced and gone through in 2021. Power steering and Power front disc brakes makes driving a pleasure.  The undercarriage is rock solid with no rust issues and is nicely detailed.  The owner and his sons enjoyed the Jeep a bit after it was completed but he soon realized he still had way too many vehicles so he has decided to let this one go to a new owner to enjoy.  It runs and drives great and is ready for fun in the sun or off-road adventures.

Asking price is $38,500 and serious buyers can call me at

  with any questions.
