This is a reframed and stripped down 1980 interstate with 46,755 original miles i purchsed from the original owner. New frame is 83 so titled as such. Fresh main engine cases are also 83's. This bike sat outdoors uncovered for 16yrs so #1& #3 sleeves and frame were rusty, so replaced cases and frame. New cases have low miles and were in excellent condition. Sleeves were honed and new standard size rings installed. All other crankcase internals from the 80. Ring gaps all even and in spec. New seals, gaskets and o-rings. New stator. Main and rod bearings look good and gauge out in spec. Tranny in excellent shape. Clutch, all pumps, primary chain and starter all in good working condition. Both heads gone thru and in good shape but compression is lower on right side so I'm confident that this is valve leakage. Need to be re-laped. Left head is good to go. Compression.. PSI readings are as follows. #1 150, #2 159; #3 112, #4 158. COLD test before break in. #'s 1 & 3 are the right side. I'm sure it's valves. All 4 cylinders were in the same condition and gaped out the same. Engine cases and radiator painted hi-temp satin black wrinkle and all bolt-ons polished.Carbs are cleaned rebuilt and detailed, but need to be checked out. Fuel flow not correct. Will start and run on all 4 for a few seconds then die. Then restart and will only fire on right side and raw gas from left exhaust. Then check plugs, rights look good and lefts wet. I'm stumped. All new cables, filters and fuel lines. New custom seat. New aftermarket lighting and mirrors. New rear custom shocks that lower rear 1 25". Fork bag, New batt and starter relay. New fuel pump. Replaced fuel tank with nice clean one. New coils, cables, connectors and plugs. Rebuilt rear caliper and new pads. Newer coolant hoses. Fenders are oem bobbed rear and trimmed front. Exhaust is stock wrapped headers with 12" tips and 9" baffles. Carbs re-jetted up 1 size to start with. My investment in this build is around 3k and about 450 hrs of labor. There is not 1 part, nut, bolt; or washer that has not been replaced, painted, rebuilt, polished or detailed. Paint is nothing special but passable. So what's left to do? Check carbs and right head. Replace turn signal relay. Replace headlight hi-low switch. Replace front tire. Wire horn. Intermittent loose connection at starter relay. Weak rear master cylinder. Replace tach head, frozen up from sitting. When the bike is ready to run fill system with coolant. Add front brakes if u want. I was going naked up front. I have some front brake parts but not everything. Also have a nice pair of case guards with highway pegs and a pair of stock passenger pegs. All these go with bike if wanted. This is a nice custom cruiser that just needs a little more work and not much $ to finish. When finished it should be worth around $ 3,500. Everyone that's seen it thinks a real one of a kind head turner. I have another vintage honda I ride all season that I love, so after over 4 yrs I've lost interest and won't have money to finish it for a wile. CLEAN TITLE. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. CONTACT SELLER TO SEE BIKE IN PERSON. THIS WILL BE YOUR LAST CHANCE. IF IT DOSN'T SELL I'LL MOTHBALL IT.Thanks for your consideration.
