I restored this bike a little over 10 years ago with the very best of the finest. It was my enjoyment to race it 5 or 6 times in the 40 Novice class, my dream bike come real. The frame was blasted and the Wheelsmith gussets added at Rage Racing by Lynn Shoup, then powder layered Cardinal Red. He restored the engine, it is an 82 490 bottom end (they are the exact same as 81's), at that time using a Yamaha YZ490 rod, brand-new Wiseco piston, all bearings and seals and clutch plates were replaced. The crank was stabilized by Crankworks and the cylinder got the Wheelsmith shaved fin adjustment. All aluminum parts were bead blasted and the engine reassembled by Lynn.
