This is a 1980 Toyota dolphin 20' motorhome. This is one of the few models with the tag axle to help with the extra weight. I have had this as a running project and have had a few good adventures in it but I'm getting married and need to sell some stuff and move on. The engine is a 20re and it has a 4 speed transmission, not particularly quick but it sips gas. It could use a bit more work but is a solid rig and a fun camper.
The good
-Has title and current tags
-Smells good
-I replaced the carpet and made new pads and covers, if it was cloth, it was replaced last year
-I cleaned and resealed everything on the roof
-I replaced some of the plastic vents on the roof that were cracked
-the cab is in really good shape and has its quirky 1980 style
-I replaced the power converter to a newer one that has more current and less noise than the original.
-I fitted a larger deep cycle battery, it has a new group 27 size battery and new starting battery too.
-I took apart the stove and repainted it with black hi temp paint to look better.
-has a bathroom/shower
-stove works, heater works, water heater works, no propane leaks, comes with a 5 gallon tank
-engine was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago, I have all the original paperwork and manuals for the truck and the appliances
The bad
-the 8 track doesnt work, I was bummed because it came with the an eagles 8 track.
-The fridge only works on propane. I haven't spent much time investigating this but it should work on 12 and 120 volt power. It is nice a cold though
-I plugged the water hose that goes to the toilet, the fitting was cracked and I didn't have time to find the replacement fitting, I have just used the shower head to rinse it the couple times I have used it since.
-Needs a mattress, I have a twin mattress stuck up there and a piece of plywood over the opening from the cab but its not for sale with the RV, a full size will fit perfectly
-there is some water damage around the front from before I sealed it
-there is some rust on the cab and around the mirrors
-missing 4/6 hubcaps
-There is a swamp cooler style air conditioner that I haven't messed with, the fans on it work but it hasn't been hooked up to the water as long as I have had it to see how well it works.
