*** PLEASE READ COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY ***     *** THIS IS A UNIQUE, ONE OF A KIND BIKE ***RELISTED DUE TO NON-PAYING BUYER*** NO BIDDERS OR OFFERS IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 POSITIVE FEEDBACKS UNLESS YOU CONTACT ME FIRST***                 RARE. MADE ONLY 2 YEARS                       Prime AHRMA racerThis incredible bike started life as a 1980 PE 400. The previous 2 owners ( one a shop owner ) set about a complete restoration of the bike. First owner completely rebuilt motor, and prepped frame ( See below) Next owner who finished the restoration elected to convert it(as closely as possible) to an RM ( in appearance) .  Not only that, but he elected to make it an upgraded Roger Decoster replica ( again, in appearance) The restoration was EXHAUSTIVE. every single part of the bike including inside motor and transmission was refurbished, replaced, upgraded, or even made from scratch where necessary. It's truly a work of art. There isnt room to go into every detail here, but I will hit many key points.-Motor completely remanufactured to better than factory.  EVERYTHING. Skidoo rod/ Crank kit.The PE motor actually produces more HP, and more torque than the RM motor right off throttle and again above 5000 rpm (although differences are minor) and is better suited to many types of riding and racing than the RM. With the mods and upgrades this motor is much better than stock.  Here are the factory specs for comparison.these figures are from cycle guide magazine back then,

I have the original PE carb)-Custom built, adjustable, rebuildable Noleen gas shocks ( factory rear shocks on these were bad news) Shocks alone were $700.-Custom engineered dual leading edge front brakes. This is a MAJOR upgrade from the factory front braking system.-Ball bearing controls & Custom built race grade cables.-Race grade clutch-All new correct repro plastics ( RM )So much more. Over $6500 in just parts & materials. There was no title for the original frame so bike was built on a 1980 PE250 frame.  All 1980 and 81 PE 400s and 250s used the same frame. The frame he found was titled as a 1980 PE 250, so that's how it's titled. The frame is perfect with the exception of a missing kick stand mounting boss. Tank decals are new reproductions and they have started to pull away around some of the edges due to the dry climate it has been in. Easily fixed.-Bike has only about 2 1/2 hours total run time ( for break in) and no more than 10 miles ridden to dial everything in. It is currently jetted for altitude of 8-10000 feet.OTHER GOODIES-Some receipts- I also have the manuals (service and parts), some notes and technical data, drawings, etc. from the restoration.-I have every original part from the bike that was worth saving including a partially new headlight assy. ( which are very tough to find) if someone actually wanted to ride this thing at night. This is a one of a kind bike with literally hundreds of hours of labor invested. All professionally done. It has been a garage ornament for me for years. It's time for someone else to enjoy it.PLEASE DONT WASTE MY TIME WITH LOW BALL OFFERSDEPOSIT OF $500 DUE IMMEDIATELY BALANCE WITHIN 2 DAYS ( contact me for accepted methods of pmt.)BIKE MUST BE PICKED UP IN TUCSON, AZ WITHIN 30 DAYS.IF YOU WANT IT SHIPPED, I RECOMMEND FORWARD AIR.
