One of the best we have ever had..........this car was the subject of a frame up restoration a few years ago but has only covered 300 miles since the work was completed. The idea was to take a more contemporary Morgan and retro fit equipment to finish the car as a perfect blend of old and new. Which it is. Excellent chassis and body, show quality BRG paint, all new black interior with leather seats, new top and side curtains (still with factory paper and plastic affixed....NEVER used), new tonneau, excellent chrome (replacing the heavy, ugly, original 5 mph rubber bumpers), wire wheels, rebuilt modified 1600cc Ford engine, Weber, headers, 1/2 race cam, blueprinted, balanced, around 125hp, 5 speed Ford T9 transmission, disc brakes with twin circuit master cylinder, classic wood dash with ALL new Smiths instruments, later model fresh air heater, new wood steering wheel, spotless engine bay. Remember, Morgan is NOT importing any new cars other than the 3 wheeler which is licensed as a motorcycle. And this Morgan is, in very many ways, like a new Morgan. The 1600cc Ford engine is well known in the USA having been used in Formula Ford race cars since 1968, the Ford T9 transmission was used in the Mercury Merkur and is one of the most popular 'boxes for conversions in MGs and others, this car is LIGHT probably not weighing much more than 1700 pounds, it is quick with a power to weight ratio similar to a Lotus Elan, and finally, being a wide bodied Morgan, it is roomy and comfortable. All reasons we originally did this car for a 6'3" customer. Smooth, wonderful ride and handling, quiet and refined (for a Morgan), easy to service in the US and unique in the Morgan car food chain. For a road Morgan, really the best compromise.
