Very rare and difficult to find in nice condition ... this is a 6-cylinder DOHC 1,300CC shaft-driven, liquid cooled muscle bike in luminous starlight blue with gold pinstripes. This bike is original except for the maintenance items. These bikes are very collectible and will definitely continue to increase in value. It's always been garaged, and the last owner had this since the 80s. There is a cool history with these if you feel inclined to do some research. This bike is not perfect, as I said its original -- the paint shows very nice for being 43 years old, and still has a nice gloss to it, there is some pitting/patina on the chrome and engine surfaces, but it's definitely not terrible. The exhaust is original and in nice shape, a little flaking of chrome/discoloration in spots, but no rust or holes in it, which is rare. The seat looks brand new still, and the lights and gauges all work, but the tach is slow/sticky, which is extremely common. Doesn't leak or burn oil, doesn't smoke ... very unique sounding bike. I'll try to spell out a few things that have been done to the bike, but I'm sure I'll forget something. The best upgrade this bike has is the Pingel petcock -- they are expensive but are much smoother than the OEM petcock and don't have the issues the originals are known for. It has new tires, new battery, new air filter, rebuilt brakes and new brake fluid, new coolant, new spark plugs/boots/wires, fresh oil and filter change (have extra filter will include with sale), new final drive fluid, carbs were gone through a few years ago, new clutch cable. Has a battery tender that can go under the seat I can include. It has an aftermarket fuel pump and filter (filter is brand new) installed that's external (these are fairly well-known in the KZ community) and wired to the bike. It provides roughly 1 lb of pressure more than gravity-fed. The bikes do run well with this set up. This bike runs good, it's not for beginners -- they are pretty heavy and will get out of their own way if you're not careful. Even by modern standards, 120hp for a street bike is pretty respectable. I hope to find this bike an owner who is familiar with them and who will care for it like it deserves and keep the KZ1300 legacy going. These bikes are not as well-known as the Honda CBX, but they were a step ahead due to a narrower engine design and liquid cooling. I also have most of the touring equipment (vetter fairing, lower panels, luggage racks, saddlebags, etc.) I personally like the stripped-down look, but I will include all those extra parts with the sale if you want them. I also have a like-new set of engine crash bars that I can include, and I'm sure some other stuff floating around the garage. These extra parts are very rare, and you'd likely be unable to find them outside of a sale like this. The fairing and saddlebags are in okay condition but could be refurbished if you wanted to put them back on. They are not in as nice of shape as the tank, cowl, and front fender currently on the bike. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks for looking. Happy to help with shipping if you are out of state.
