1979 Pontiac Trans Am L78 Car and Driver magazine named the Trans
Am with a WS6 performance package the best handling car of 1979.
During period dyno testing the National Hotrod Association rated
the limited availability T/A high output Pontiac 400 engine at 260
to 280 net horsepower which was considerably higher than Pontiacs
conservative rating of 220 hp. Our 1979 L78 Trans Am with a WS6 as
well as the WS4 performance packages not only is a pleasure to
drive, this thing performs like its got horsepower well into the
high 300s if not more, it is that fast (weve bought and sold a
number of second generation Firebirds we have never had one thats
performed as well thats been as wicked fast)! Investment grade TA,
not only is the drive train original to the car, numbers matching
400, numbers matching four-speed manual transmission,
posi-traction, and a 4.10 rearend, but also included is the build
sheet and a title that indicates the miles are actual! All kinds of
equipment, including cold air conditioning, electric windows,
factory tachometer, tilt steering column, power brakes, disc front
and rear, electric trunk release, drivers remote mirror, factory
clock (yes it works), rear spoiler, new stereo, sound system,
shaker hood, and more. Riding on the set of like new 17" Nitto
tires, and Trans Am style snowflake wheels. Incredible car, peruse
the 45+ pics and enjoy.
