Silver and Brass Music Shop is a brick-and-mortar brass instrument restoration and repair shop located in Carson City, NV. For more information about our business, please feel free to visit our Ebay Profile at /usr/silver_brass_music This is a King model 4B "Sonorous" large bore tenor trombone made in 1977 (serial number 627279) with a traditional wrap F attachment. The horn has a slide bore of .547"/.547" and the bell measures 8 1/2". This instrument plays very well. The valve works very well, and has very good compression. The slide action is very good, but it does whisper when in motion, so it appears to have some hard water buildup on the inside of the outer tubes which should go away as the horn is used. There are some small imperfections in both the inner and outer tubes and if you are highly particular about your slide you may want to have these addressed. The stockings show very little wear at all, but there is one tiny area of missing chrome on one tube. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are small dings and pings as well as a small amount of scratching and pitting throughout the horn. There is also some wavyness in the bell flare. The bell engraving reads: “King/ 4-B/ Sonorous/ King Musical/ Instruments/ U-S-A” This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wiped off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This trombone comes with a worn case for transportation and a mouthpiece in good condition for play-testing purposes. All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop710 N.
