Beautiful 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000A1 showing just 13,678 original miles. Bike is in great shape; starts easily, (kick and electric) idles smoothly and runs out strong in all five gears. The engine neither smokes nor makes any unusual noises. All electrical systems, (charging, headlight Hi/Lo beam, tail light, stop light, turn signals and all instrument lights) function properly. The carbs have been cleaned, tuned and synchronized. The bike has received an oil and filter change, fresh spark plugs and a new battery. The brakes were flushed and bled with fresh fluid.As we worked on the bike, the wonderful condition of its' alloy parts, chrome and frame paint made the tired finish on the original tank, side covers and tail section stand out so these were replaced with a freshly painted body set from Z1 Enterprises. The new tank is as pretty inside as out so no worries about rust or contamination of the fuel system.The bike arrived with an LTD seat, (a common "upgrade" back in the day) but needed a proper original style seat in keeping with the rest of the bikes' unmolested condition so a new pattern seat was fitted. It maintains its' original 4 into 2 exhaust, (something that is very unusual to find on these bikes as most were swapped out for 4 into 1's.)These bikes are robust in their construction as Kawasaki worked to overcome the flexibility of the frames on the early 900's. The rear brake was upgraded to a disc. The engine is known for longevity so the mileage is of no concern and should provide years of operation if properly maintained.As with any used, unrestored machine of this vintage there are imperfections which should be easily seen in the pictures provided.
