Up for auction is this 1976 Yamaha RD400 frame and engine with matching numbers. THERE IS NO TITLE AND IS BEING SOLD FOR PARTS OR RACING PURPOSES. The engine does turn over and the bottom still has oil in it. The case has damage from a thrown chain also probably caused by a transmission failure as the drive sprocket spins freely but will not engage into any gear up or down(I used the shifter from the parts bin included to test). The cylinders and heads look great. I also found where the frame has had some brackets removed in the seat mounting area. The front forks are loosely attached to the frameThe original fuel tank is in great shape with no major damage. It’s clean inside. Feels solid with no soft spots. Key included but cannot get the cylinder to turn. So I have not fully closed the fuel cap! Petcock is not frozen and turnsBoth wheels look to be in great shape with no cracks or major damage. Front fender has a slight bend.There is a RD350 tank and gauge set included. The tank is in great shape and will clean up well for an original tank. The petcock moves freely.
