Here ya go boys! 74 Arlen Ness XLCH digger. This was part of a very cool stash of custom 70s choppers I bought down in Salem OR. Had not seen the light of day since 1987 according to the previous owner. It is an unrestored survivor for sure but it is also now the best running Ironhead I have ever owned. From all of the internet research I’ve done this appears to be a bike that was built by Arlen himself but I can’t say for sure. If thats something thats really important to you, here’s your chance to play detective and get to the bottom of the case. Basically all I’ve done to the bike is clean off all the dust and crud, changed the fluids, clean/rebuilt the carb., did a little bit of re-wiring and put a nice old Firestone and new Shinko front tire on the bike. It shifts and runs excellent, goes down the road surprisingly well and is pretty comfortable for what it is. Headlight, tail light and brake lights all work, I’m not sure why but the key won’t kill the ignition. I’ve been stalling it out to shut it down, but with the ignition switch off it does cut off the power after the bike shuts down? Probably a very simple fix. There are no suspicious noises it is in very good mechanical condition. Even starts on the 1st couples of kicks. If you look at all of the pics and video it’s obvious that the paint and chrome are no pristine by any means, but i think it looks perfect the way it is. Bike is titled off of the Eng. #s as a Harley Davidson and has a clear OR title. If you have any questions please ask before you decide, not after you’ve already committed to buy.
