This 1973 CZ 400 was originally sold by Grand Prix Cycles in Northern California, one of the top CZ dealers in the U.S.,which was owned by the Fox brothers who went on to create Fox suspension and Fox products; manufacturer's of boots, clothing, helmets, andother motorsports and off road bicycle products. It is an early production model, with the gas tank having the filler neck and cap in the center, and an aluminum strap running down the center. Later units would have the filler neck off center to the right, with a checkered stripe replacing the alloy strap. The bike is an excellent example of an unmolested frame, nearly all original survivor; with only a 34mm Mikuni carburetor and Whirlpull throttle from CZ expert, C.R. High Performance as the only non O.E.M. parts on the bike. The tires are the original factory installed Barums. It even has the factory aluminum number plates in place. The bike appears to have had very little use by the previous two owners, and was only used for display indoors by me. This bike has matching engine and frame numbers, which is rare. It also has a title, which is equally rare for an early '70's motocross bike. It also has the owner's manual and parts manual included. There is also a re-print of the March 1974 Dirt Bike magazine test of the bike included. I will also provide a bill of sale. No warranty is expressed or implied on this 50 year old dirt bike. I will keep the motorcycle stored indoors until the new owner can arrange pickup. If you need suggestions for motorcycle shipping, I will be happy to help with that.
