Up for auction at no reserve is a vintage, mostly gutted 1973 24' Airstream Tradewind.
The Tradewind model is known for its small size and ability to get into National Parks that larger Airstreams can't. It is distinguished from the Bambi, Bambi II, Globetrotter and Safari by its slightly larger and more spacious rear bathroom, full kitchen with a large fridge, double sink and 4 top stove, and the space for a dinette in the front (right now there is a sofa bed where the dinette could be).
With a total length of only 25 feet, this Airstream would be great for camping in national parks as it is below the length requirements. Due to its very light weight of under 4,000 pounds, practically any vehicle with a towing package can pull it comfortably.
The exterior aluminum on this Airstream only has very minimal denting around the trailer, which is all visible in the pictures. The most noteworthy damage is near the entry door window, and on the front driver's side paneling where some rivets were removed to pull a small dent and never replaced. There is minor denting on the right rear quarter panel. It also has the typical rock chips and dents around the lower aluminum underbelly paneling. Some of the underbelly is missing and will need replaced. The rear bumper door is missing, and the entry door doesn't stay firmly shut because it needs a new dead bolt receiver. The interior would benefit from a nice cleaning and some fresh paint!
Overall, the body is in nice shape for the age of the camper. The tires will need replaced before towing and we can help with that for $1200 (4 new trailer tires). Some of the subfloor will need to be removed and replaced.
We did not test the onboard electric and associated appliances as they are not present and will need to be replaced. Also, the plumbing systems were not tested and there are still some propane lines attached under the trailer. Being a 50 year old gutted trailer, it will need restoration before it is campable again. We do have this trailer listed for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction early in the event that it sells. Feel free to call Nathan at (260)
and make an offer.
Clean and clear title in hand. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of auction end, via PayPal or wire transfer. We try to be as descriptive as possible in the listing but we're glad to answer any questions or show the trailer, which is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The trailer is in AS IS condition - you can call Nathan at (260)
with any questions. FULL PAYMENT IS DUE VIA WIRE TRANSFER OR CASHIER'S CHECK WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION END.
