Recently acquired from a local friend...........he has owned it for 30+ years, driven back then and very little now. Had been sitting under a tarp (as he told me) for thirty years, pulled out and given to us to bring back to life.
What we did: new solid state fuel pump, cleaned the carbs, new brake and clutch master cylinders, new clutch slave, lubed everything, changed oil and filter, checked trans and diff oils, new plugs and it came to life. Excellent running and driving, no smoke, 70 psi oil pressure when warm, shifts effortless and revs nicely.
Can't see any rust perforation underneath, body appears to be very good as is the paint (in Mars red). Top is excellent, windows a bit faced (should be cleaned or replaced), carpets are a bit hokey but seats and dash are all excellent. And original chrome is surprisingly well preserved.
Spotless trunk and engine bay, excellent wiring harness, oil cooler, not even any significant oil leaks (how rare!). A very nice 51 year old MGB that starts instantly, runs perfectly, and one can enjoy as is OR, over time, convert to wire wheels, add a wood grained dash, a modern stereo (but the cassette radio works), add a hardtop, air conditioning, most anything. All work we frequently do in our workshops.
We now offer financing at competitive rates for all vehicles in our inventory. Inquire for details.
