The second generation of International Harvester's diminutive
off-road vehicle, the Scout II, was produced from 1971 through
1980, but the factory never produced an example quite like this.
This 1972 International Scout II 4x4 is a highly modified example,
complete with a performance-built small-block Chevrolet V8 that the
seller says has traveled 105 miles since being built. The Scout II
is also said to have a rebuilt General Motors automatic
transmission and four-wheel-drive transfer case. Per the seller,
this Scout underwent a body-off full restoration, during the frame
was also powder coated. The Scout II's rejuvenation is described as
dating to 2015, including its repaint, which the seller rates as "a
solid 8 on a scale of 10," after the vehicle was reportedly
stripped to bare metal. The Scout II also has a refurbished
interior with modern instruments and, according to the seller, is
"free of rust."
