1972 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Hot rod
This is a three owner car that was initially purchased by a Mr. Soderburg on May 5th, 1972 from Fruitrich Cadillac-Buick in Bridgeport CT.
He ordered her up with a slew of accessories.
Aside from the standard things like power steering, power brakes (discs F, drums R), power windows, dual comfort seats, self leveling suspension, vinyl roof and cornering lights, Mr. Soderburg added leather, 6 way power seats (driver and passenger), tinted windows, power locks, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, AC, rear defroster, auto dimming headlights, cruise control, twilight sentinel, remote control passenger side mirror, dual opera lamps, door edge guards, remote trunk release and lamp monitors. She was set for some seriously comfortable driving.
He owned the car until the mid 90's when a Mr. Wedman bought the car. It looks as though the car sat in a garage from the around 1988 until 96. When the 2nd owner got her, he got her up and running well and then treated her to a repaint sometime in the early 2000's in her original 49 code Brewster Green metallic.
In this entire time, the car has only wracked up 86,000 miles on the big 472 V8.
About 5 years ago, the current owner purchased the car from his neighbor, Mr Wedman and proceeded to get to work on her in his own way.
He envisioned a sort of Hot Rod Caddy, low, growling and fast.
Short story... There are receipts for over $40,000 worth of work. That includes mundane things like brake work, suspension bushings, engine seals/gaskets, new tires (Hankook Optimo in 235/75/R15 size), new rear control arms, oil changes... But also includes a lowered suspension, new steering box, headers, 2.5" dual exhaust all the way back, Sniper EFI, MSD ignition, Edelbrock Performer manifold , custom cross-member and driveshaft because of the brand new 4L80E auto transmission with programmable controller.
I have those receipts in a PDF if desired.
The interior remains hugely original. All the electronics I tested work correctly except the radio. Windows, lights, locks, power seats, etc.
Turn the key, allow the electronic fuel pump to cycle and she fires right up and settles into a nice rumbling idle. Drop her into D and hit the gas and she growls up through the gears, banging each shift. Hit the gas hard enough and she lights up those Hankook tires.
There are some blemishes in the 20 year old paint, I feel that most of them would be rectified by a quality color correction/sand/buff and the interior shows like an interior with less than 86000 miles but has some deficiencies as well (dash and seats are not cracked though).
There is no rot anywhere on the car and only slight surface rust. The trunk needs the most work as the original carpet is gone and all that is left is the rubberized undercoat. Carpet sets are available though.
This is a 3 owner hot rod cruiser that is totally turn key. Bring her to any cars and coffee or cruise night and she's getting looks. Do some of the aforementioned elbow grease and she may even win a trophy or two for you. She runs and drives great.
Asking price on her is $17,500.
Any questions, for 400+ additional photos and video, to schedule a time to see her or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks for the interest!
