This bike is a solid runner ready to enjoy. I bought this bit over a year ago from California. I have attached the video link below from the previous owner....it's a bit cheesy but shows the bike riding two up. It comes with an original CA blue plate./watch?v=Svu9mEUBxtkMechanically this bike is great. I did have to adjust the carbs a bit for my high altitude situation of 7000 feet but I did not need to rejet - so you can easily back the idle off for sea level. When I got the bike the tach did not work. I installed a NOS tachometer. The mileage is low at ± 4500 on the replacement and the original was at around 17K. The previous owner said the motor was bored out to an 800 but I have no paperwork to substantiate it. However, it does have more grunt that my other 750 which is original.I bought this due to the, what I consider, to be a great original patina. It just spoke to me. The rack is really handy. Like all old British bikes, there is a routine one learns to starting these up. Tickling the carbs to overflow, kicking through a round of compression and two full throttle blips before attempting to kick. Once you get that dialed in it starts up nicely. Just a note to those romanticizing about owning a classic bike of any kind, you need to know that there are rituals involved. It's all part of the game. This bike does not leak nearly as bad as most - perhaps a teaspoon drip I have to wipe up once a week. The patina, as can be seen in pics, is in the form of peppering to chrome, oxidation, light rust on triple clamp and paint chips. The tank does not leak and is original fiberglass. I also use ethanol eating additives along with using ethanol free gas when possible but I think this tank was treated and it appears to not be crap stuff or pealing - likely it's Carswell.Tires are like new and not ancient - so no need to replace. Seat has no tears. Brakes work fine (for the era).I believe this is a bike not to be restored only because of the expense of restoration. This is an affordable entry into the Norton world. You can cosmetically upgrade if you wish but it's nothing I'd want to do!I'm simply selling do to lack of space - that's it. I'd keep it but my collection is growing and I have another Commando and 12 other bikes.I can assist loading bike whether you use shipper or you pick up in person. It is sold as-is where is no warranty. No returns. Clear title in my name. As with all things old, it may treat you kindly for thousands of miles or give you heartache tomorrow - such is life with these oldies!Payment via friends and family options on Venmo and PayPal, Zelle, Wire transfer or cash
