This matching-numbers 1970 Plymouth HEMI Superbird was the
recipient of a comprehensive rotisserie restoration. It is powered
by its matching-numbers 426ci HEMI V8 engine with factory-rated
425hp, equipped with dual 4-barrel carburetors, hemispherical
heads, black wrinkle valve covers and stock exhaust manifolds. The
engine is paired with a matching-numbers A727 automatic
transmission and a Sure-Grip 8.75-inch rear axle with a 3.55 ratio.
Finished in high-impact Lemon Twist with a black vinyl top with
Superbird graphics, it includes a "beep-beep" road runner horn,
dual exhaust, power steering and power brakes with front discs. It
rolls on chrome 15-inch Rally wheels and F70-15 white-letter tires.
The interior features black and Charcoal vinyl upholstery with
silver piping on the front buckets and rear seat and coordinating
door panels, black headliner, carpet and dash, as well as a factory
150-mph speedometer and full gauges, heater defroster and AM radio.
The sale comes with a certification and Wise Validation Report from
David Wise of MMC Detroit, full documentation with the Broadcast
Sheet, over 600 photos, and receipts documenting this car and the
restoration. All body numbers match top to bottom and the Superbird
retains its factory Data Tag and VIN. This car is one of the 1,935
Superbirds produced in 1970, with only 135 coming with a HEMI
engine. Of those, 77 were automatics, and this is one of two with
these configuration combinations. 20,860 miles (title reads exempt)
and 50 miles since the completion of the restoration. ** PREVIEW
