Fiberglass was a new material for the company that had made its name as the largest manufacturer of wood boats. Chris Craft did not know how this new material and technology would hold up or if it would stand the test of time, so they generally over-engineered the hull. This particular hull was designed for Chris Craft by Jim Wynne of 1960 race boat fame. This boat once owned by the New Zealand ski team has proven it has the ability to perform.The Berkeley 454cid jet drive really gives the boat the ability to get up and move.
