AUTHENTIC SILK WATER COLOR PAINTING - CAM LO, QUANG TRI PROVINCE, VIETNAM. A STREET ARTIST GAVE ME THIS SILK ART IN EXCHANGE FOR FOOD. I COULD HAVE DISCARDED IT SOMEWHERE ALONG MY WAY, BUT SOMEHOW COULD NOT. SO SIMPLE A THOUGHT, A VIETNAMESE PEASANT WALKING ON A BRIDGE OVER A RICE PADDY BETWEEN TWO HOMES. WHY DID HE PAINT THIS HAUNTING PICTURE IN BLACK AND GRAY? FOR A YOUNG MARINE IT WILL ALWAYS REPRESENT THE DARK BEAUTY OF VIETNAM. I CARRIED THIS SILK PAINTING FOLDED IN MY BACKPACK UNTIL I RETURNED HOME AND GAVE IT FREEDOM. NOW I PASS IT ON TO ANOTHER, MAYBE A VETERAN, MAYBE A VETERAN'S FAMILY, OR SOMEONE WHO WILL ENJOY THE BEAUTY OF A TIME GONE BY. (Framed and matted)
