Vintage VOX V1043 ESSEX BASS AMP.
Classic 1967 SOLID STATE Twin Twelve Bass Guitar Amp. Includes chrome trolley and footswitch. Sounds fantastic with bass, guitars, or secrets. CLASSIC LOOK AND SOUND !!!
This amp does have some natural vintage wear collected from 50 years of use. There are some scuffs and scrapes on the tolex sides and a little bit of wood revealing through on the back (upper right: see pictures). The grill cloth is looking good total, no significant tears or holes. Please study all pics and make use of the magnifier to see even more information.
Total it is in great working condition although the footswitch does not seem to activate the TONE X Sweep as I think it is expected to do. It may be a simple fix or potentially not connected well. Offering as is.
The V1043 Essex Bass.
In 1967, the last variation of the Essex Bass, the V1043, improved the output power from 35 watt RMS, 70 watt peak to 50 watts RMS, 100 watts peak. Thomas Organ remained to set up the exact same Oxford 12" ferrite magnet speakers utilized in previous Essex models however they were now painted gold.
The Essex control board was mounted into the top of the cabinet. It had a Volume and Tone-X control, a power switch, indication lamp, dual 1/4" inputs, and a line reverse switch. Tone-X was a tone control that changed the regular bass and treble control. Tone-X was a sweepable EQ control that offered about a 6 dB boost from about 50 Hz (control counter clockwise) to 300 Hz (control clockwise).
One of these offered recently on Ebay for $1100 + $250 shipping (product number ).
