This auction is for a 1966 Triumph TR6R Trophy which I have owned since 1995 and had on display in a climate controlled office since 1998. I spent my career in the motorcycle industry, and located this bike for a close friend who was a franchised Honda and Kawasaki dealer in the early '90s. He wanted this specific model as it was the first year with the new "eyebrow" tank badges and 12 volt electrics; he preferred the single carb rather than the somewhat finicky dual carb setup of the Bonneville. He had the frame and side covers refinished in gloss black, and the fuel tank and fenders refinished in the orange/ivory colors of the '66 Triumph Thunderbird that he longed for in his younger years, preferring it to the original blue/ivory combination. The paint was done by Phil Tatum, the hand pin striping done by Steve Cox, and the top end and output shaft seals refreshed by Bill Fowler. All three were well respected Texas craftsmen who have unfortunately left us. After my friend's passing, I sorted the carburetor and electrics, had new front brake shoes arced to fit, and personally put on the entire 389 miles since restoration. The bike was a one kick starter and functioned as designed. After riding the bike to events and shows for a couple of years, I removed the battery, drained the fuel, and placed it on display in a climate controlled office where it has resided for the last 26 years. I am in my 70's now, and it is time to thin my collection while I am still active. I will miss this one for several reasons, but it is time. While almost too nice to ride, this bike should be fully functional again with fluids and battery. The bike has a clean "blue" Texas title in my name.I will be happy to assist in acquiring appropriate shipping and storing the bike after sale while arrangements are being made.$1,000 Deposit due with 72 hours of sale, balance payable by casher's check, wire transfer, Zelle, Venmo or PayPal Friends and Family.
