Description

After the manufacturing of the 911 started, Porsche introduced the

912, a similar, cheaper, slower option opposed to the traditional

  911. The 912 essentially took the same body-style from the 911 and

just swapped out the engine for a 356-derived 4-cylinder engine.

The 912 started manufacturing during 1965 and continued until 1969,

outpacing the 911 sales, and boosting the Porsche manufacture

  name.

This 1966 Porsche 912 was developed for the Iberian Historic

Endurance Series. It was an Endurance Racer and a Tarmac Rally Car.

Its furious Gulf colors on the outside show how crazy this car is.

It has been stripped down to just the chassis and lightened it even

more, as well as converting the 912 body to a 911. The exterior

consists of wide fiberglass fenders and a ducktail spoiler, and

with this being a race car, the hood is also fully removable. The

car has front and rear tow hooks, a removable set of headlight

covers, plastic vented RSR ride and rear windows, and a carbon

fiber front splitter. Air-Jacks have also been installed, which can

be seen in the backseat of the car along with the front

wheel-wells. The interior consists of a lot of carbon fiber, a

Carbon Fiber Dashboard, Stacks instruments with 10,000 RPM Tach.

Carbon fiber door panels, a Momo removable steering wheel and a

competition handbrake. A 7-gear Billet Quick shifter has been

fitted inside as well as a fully welded roll cage, Sparco, and OMP

Race seats and Belts for the driver and co-pilot, Sparco race

pedals, and a fire extinguisher. A Sachs ceramic competition clutch

has been fitted, along with an Upgraded C/R Gearbox, paired with a

Limited slip differential. The engine has been taken from a Porsche

356 and it is originally a 4-Cylinder producing 59 hp. The new

engine is managed by Black Forest Racing, and it was upgraded to a

3.2 liter 350 hp monster. The Crankshaft, liners, shells, RS cams,

and valves have all been upgraded. The Pistons have been upgraded

to Wossner High Compression pistons, oversized valve heads (ported

and flowed) have been installed, along with Uprated fans and

pullies, a front oil cooler, a high-pressure oil pump, Weber IMO

40DCOE Carbs, Twin racing fuel pumps, fuel pressure regulator, MSD

Ignition control system, and Twin HiPo Coils. To fuel this beast, a

100 liter fuel cell from ATL has been installed in the bow of the

  car.

To keep Frankenstein on the ground, 2-piece Big Braid rims have

been fitted and to fit the rims, new Toyo Proxes R888 have been

wrapped around. Uprated 968RS and 964 Cup Brakes have been

installed and the brake discs are drilled and vented, also AP

racing brake master cylinders were fitted to help slow down from

the speeds this car can put out. The Chassis has obviously been

upgraded and a custom forward engine mount has been made and

installed. Adjustable rear sway and brake balance bars, Porsche 930

sway bars, 930 from torsion bars and steering rack, Poly bushings,

and a Fully adjustable Bilstein Nrburgring Suspension Kit have all

been installed for the car. The car has paint chips around the

quick-release buttons for the hood as well as the edges of the

wheel-wells. The car is Registered and Titles in North

  Carolina.
