A fine example of a 1965 Fender Jazz Bass for playing and collecting. Made in mid-1965. (Just after CBS bought Fender in Jan of' 65.) These are essentially pre-CBS models with pearl dots instead of clay. (By Dec of 1965, CBS's influence became noticeable). These basses are valued at $6500 to $8000 for Exc. Cond. LOW-HIGH. I have it priced fairly below this. There are basses on ebay in worse condition going for more. On Gbase they are $8500-$9500! This bass was obviously played hard during it's early life, but has sat in the case untouched for the last 25 years.
Worn deep in two small spots on the front with typical buckle wear on a few areas of the back. Very Good Plus condition. A well played 45 year old bass. The back of the neck is worn smooth and plays very well. Many basses this age show more wear on the paint.. It has ALL original factory finish, tuners, pick-ups, frets, pots, pickguard and hardware. It comes with ALL of the original parts including the OHSC, Chrome pickup covers, finger rest, case key.
Serial number: L77---; Neck stamp: 7 MAY 65 A; Pot codes: 28th week of '65. This bass plays perfectly and is ready to rock! No issues.
