This 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230SL roadster was factory-built with a
Mocha Brown soft-top, an Ivory exterior and a Palamino leather
interior. It is powered by a fully restored and matching-numbers
fuel-injected 2.3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine paired with a
4-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle has four factory
options, including a leather interior, rear passenger buddy seat,
vertical spare tire and the 4-speed automatic transmission. The
current owner purchased this beautiful 1964 230SL with both hard-
and soft-tops in Hamberg, Germany, in 1983 from the second owner
and the vehicle was driven for many years in Southern California.
Rocco Metalworks in Bend, OR, recently completed a full rotisserie
restoration. The Ivory exterior is finished in Glasurit 21-line
single-stage urethane. The Palamino seats, doors and all interior
trim are finished in leather acquired from the original Italian
supplier of leather to Mercedes-Benz for the 1964 SL models. All
clamps, nuts and bolts are cadmium-plated and correct to original
Mercedes-Benz specifications. The engine, transmission, rear end
and fuel-injection system were rebuilt by Mike Newberry of Bend, OR
- a Gold Star Mercedes-Benz mechanic for 10 years. The interior and
soft-top were completed by Red Hot Interiors of Bend, OR. The sale
comes with photos and written documentation, including receipts for
over $100,000 in genuine Mercedes-Benz parts. ** PREVIEW
