1962 Volkswagen Beetle Classic Cabriolet Pretty BUG.
This is a 1962 VW Cabriolet Convertible. Throughout the 60s, VW produced a very low number of convertibles worldwide. In 1962, this represented 1 percent of the worldwide market. Understandably, this is a very rare car.
The restoration started a little over a year ago, has just been completed. This restoration included a complete repainting as well as a new convertible headliner, padding and vinyl top. The rear drum brakes have been completely rebuilt. A new battery and new tires were also installed. The color is an original Pacific Blue for 1962. The front and rear bumpers have been remove, blasted, and professionally powder coated. The car is now fully functional for a 12 volt system (originally a 6 volt system). The windshield wiper motor has just been upgraded to a 12 volt motor. All switches and electrical now work on 12 volts. The 1300cc engine has been removed from the vehicle. All seals and gaskets were replaced and the engine cleaned and repainted. The heads were removed and professionally rebuilt.
