It's a Kay Vanguard electric guitar. Made in Chicago by the late, great Kay Musical Instrument Company. Both of the CTS pots are coded indicating they were made in October 1962. Kay made the vanguard from 1. This is the model K-100. It is a one-pickup Vanguard with black cupcake tone and volume knobs. Unusually, the tone and the volume are in reverse locations from where they usually are. I think it is all original except for the upper bout end pin (strap button) which is a vintage replacement. The headstock logo badge is missing. I don't know if it was badged as a Kay or Truetone or some other department store name that Kay sold to. Solid body. Rosewood fretboard. Brass frets. Truss rod. The frets and the fretboard are in near excellent condition. The electronics work just fine. I cleaned the pots with DeOxit spray cleaner so they should be static-free or close to it. Cosmetically, it has some ordinary age and play wear with some nicks, scratches, and finish wear. Overall, it looks solidly good. No case, but it will be well-wrapped for shipping. It's a cool All-American guitar, ready to play. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 46"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
