　　* GREAT Vintage Collectable/Playable Trumpet * Make An Offer Here’s a nice used 1950s vintage Getzen Super Deluxe Tone Balanced Pro trumpet outfit complete with original Getzen woodshell case and mouthpiece. This was a rather extraordinarily decorative art deco designed pro line trumpet of the 1950s. Original lacquered finish is approx. 75% intact in my estimation, showing general surface wear and blemishes throughout, but still holding a decent shine overall as the pictures show. This trumpet has a beautiful 3-tone look, it is mainly gold-lacquered brass but has chunky nickel silver bracing, nickel silver tubing, nickel silver receiver and caps, and also copper bracing, a copper bell garland and a copper leadpipe. All the parts have a unique artistic sculptured look to them giving it a real art deco appearance. Bell garland is engraved "GETZEN - SUPER DELUXE - TONE BALANCED - ELKHORN, WIS. " and the middle valve casing is stamped "PAT. PEND. 48XXX GETZEN. The 2 waterkeys are the old fashioned trombone style, which add to the neat art deco appearance. Serial number 48,XXX indicating that it was manufactured in the 1950s at the old Getzen plant. This trumpet has smooth valves which are in good shape with the silvery hard nickel valve plating intact. Leadpipe is in good shape and all bracing is intact. All the slides move freely and have just been lubricated. The slides all make a nice "pop" when pulled. There are no major dents in this horn, just a a few shallow dings. Finger buttons have the mother-of-pearl inserts.  This horn plays wonderfully as you would expect from an early pro Getzen, it's got a good solid tone. The original woodshell padded Getzen case is included which is in good used shape. Latches hold shut on the case but are no longer springy. The case is plush-lined and has a mouthpiece slot, accessory storage compartment, and Getzen logo on the handle. Also included is a clean mouthpiece and the original Getzen Band Instruments tag! This beautiful ornate 1950s Getzen Super  Deluxe is totally ready to be played and enjoyed.
