I have for sale a 1947 J-50 (FON 605). It's probably amongst the earliest of the postwar J-50's, and as close as you're likely to get to Dylan's renowned script-logo design (if you believe that was a J-50 at all). This has everything you 'd expect from a script logo or very early block logo Gibson, from its light build, to full-but-not-too-full neck. Big, rich, receptive tone, with volume to spare. I've played a few two tone bar J-35's over the previous year, and this compares extremely favorably at less than half the rate. Wonderful sound.
Condition is very great overall. Regular surface wear, consisting of the standard Gibson checking, and a couple of dings. There's an area on the back that resembles it responded to a vinyl strap, while the finish surrounding the endpin looks like it might have seen too much wetness at some time. No cracks. Previous work consists of a neck reset, re-glued bridge, re-glued braces, and a changed maple bridge plate (original was spruce!).
