This is a rare 1944 E model Police Knucklehead 3 speed with reverse which was located and restored in the early 1990's .   It came with the officers Harley Leather Jacket and a picture of the original Bike in front of the station it was stationed at until the early 1960'sThe E Model was a Police only order with low compression, this bike also has factory reverse on it. The E model was a low production in 1944 and shipped to police departments during the warIts painted with color matched DULUX Police silver, there are some nicks and imperfections as seen in the photosThe bike has an original 1943 marked frame, matching belly numbers, and a clean title in handThe sheet metal is original and as shipped the rear fender has the appropriate cut out for the rear sirenThe speedometer is an original war years speedo ( black trim speedo rolled back) working, war years pedal. The original police siren works, and rotates off the rear wheel, as well as a police rack, and police rear crash bar ( for radio mounted motorcycles) and an original police ( heavy duty kickstand)The known replica parts are as follows, Handlebars, wiring harness, seat, grips, tires, muffler ( NOS exhaust pieces), and misc nuts bolts and washers.The motor was rebuilt ( top and bottom ) with NOS and original parts ( where needed ) it was line bored, new bearings, new pistons/rings carb rebuilt, rocker boxes cleaned, rockers replaced ( original rockers) new seals, and NOS parkerized tinsThis is a bike that has many parts, so look closely at the pics, ask questions LOTS OF QUESTIONS.
