Description

For sale is this beautiful matching numbers 1941 Indian Four Cylinder. I have had the bike for about 6 years. It was originally restored in the early 90's by Ken Edmiston and then invested about a decade in the Trev Deely Museum before landing in the stable of a previous AMCA president who then offered it to the AMA Museum. I purchased it from a Georgia gentleman who won it in a drawing from the AMA gallery. It was reported to be mainly original, a possible previous police bike (with ideal handed throttle) and given that I was not able to confirm whether it had an engine restore during its Edmiston restoration, I had the engine and transmission entirely reconstructed by Conrad Lytle of Fairfield PA in 2009. It has about 200 burglary miles on it since. The speedo was never ever reset so it still has the miles that were on it when I purchased it plus about 200 miles. It had new spokes on both wheels, one brand-new wheel hub and a new wiring harness put on at the exact same time the engine was being restored. It has a reproduction ammeter, air cleaner and clutch pedal. I also placed on some very nice recreation period saddlebags and windshield. It has a porcelainized exhaust header and a really great chrome muffler which certainly provides it that Four Cylinder growl. It starts easy, runs smooth and shifts well. Once it's started, the tires are vitually new and the engine runs with a rock strong 50lbs of oil pressure. It has actually not been judged by the AMCA that I know nor did I wish to have it judged. The photos will inform the story and if that isn't enough, I have connected a link to a video I made of the bike so you can see it completely and hear it run. I have collected numerous more Indians since this purchase and I am looking to downsize to handle some added jobs. I have actually actually enjoyed this bike however I don't ride enough to keep all the bikes, so something had to go. I desire this bike to discover an excellent house with someone who will certainly ride her more often than I can. She's been built for it and prepares to go!
