1937 C.G. CONN 22B New York Symphony SPECIAL Trumpet, Gold Plated Vintage CONN 2 Mouthpiece and the Original CONN Case (Serial # 316839)This is a particularly nice CONN 22B Special trumpet that looks and plays great. The bell engraving is clear. The tone is rich, smooth and more refined than a standard NYS 22B. The Special version is also a bit heavier due to the nickel silver. This instrument has been well cared for and last year it was overhauled and given an attractive brushed, gold lacquer finish. It had not been overhauled previously. Included with the horn is an excellent CONN 2 mouthpiece of the same vintage. This mouthpiece was beautifully gold plated in Europe. The case is original and in remarkable condition. It has no odors, no damage, good latches and a sturdy handle. The horn is dent free with the exception of a very small, hard to access imperfection on the backside of the main tuning slide. There is a little red rot on the main tuning slide which has been treated and should not be a problem for quite some time. Red rot is common in older horns but this instrument has far less than most. The valves are original and in good shape and all the slides move smoothly. Numerous felts, corks and springs were replaced when it was overhauled. The instrument will arrive 100% ready to play. It will be well packed and promptly shipped. FREE UPS Ground Shipping within the USA.
