This F. E. Olds and Son Trombone is a beautifully crafted musical instrument perfect for collectors, advanced and expert players. Made in the Los Angeles California in 1930/1. This trombone features a dual bore .495/.510 slide and a bell diameter of 7 1/2 inches, mostly made of hand hammered brass. The rare, unique, removable bear counterweight adds to the instrument's aesthetic appeal. It plays very well. The bore and bell is very similar to the Bach Stradivarius 16M that Bill Watrous made famous. The hand slide brace has been modified and the bell has had work. Please look at the detailed pictures for condition. It is very responsive and has a great sound.
The slide is suprisingly good. I would gig with it. It moves freely and slicked up is very nice. Olds made trombones before any other instrument and there quality was outstanding during this period.
It will be carefully packaged with insurance and will be to the shipper in less than 24 hours.
