Travel back in time with this classic old banjo. It's marked as a Little Wonder model, made by the great Vega Company in Boston, Massachusetts. It is a REPAIR PROJECT. The serial number 41,459 is stamped on both the dowel and inside shell. The Banjo Haven website Vega serial number list estimates it was built in 1918. The head is torn and off the banjo. It comes with the original torn head with flesh hoop. The head is an odd size, 11-3/4" or maybe 11-7/8". It is missing two hooks and their nuts. It is missing one bracket, but the bolt for the missing bracket is included. The second string tuner button is a vintage non-matching replacement. It comes with two old Grover bridges. It comes with the tailpiece. It comes with an old banjo capo in fair condition. It comes with an old metal finger pick. The bones are good on this banjo. The frets and fretboard have some wear, but not much. The neck is in good shape and is appropriately straight. The handle has torn off the original case. The latches and hinges all work on the case. The case has significant wear on the outside, and some on the inside too, but is in decent structural shape. It's a worthy candidate for restoration. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 46"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
