Old-fashioned Valentine?s Day Card (#E7) $12 This is a rare vintage Valentine?s Day Card dating back to the early 1900?s found in an attic of an old farm house in Illinois. The card is a heart shape with roses around two young kids sitting in an old model T-Ford with a little kitten pooping up and looking shocked on the hood. It was designed to pop-out and set-up, giving the card a 3-dimensional effect. The card reads, ?I?ll drive Bargain with you, my Valentine.? The signature on the back of the card shows it was sent to Mrs. Shaw from Robert Gudeman. I don?t have any facts on this person, but the card was found in Mrs. Shaw?s stack of cards. She was a school teacher in the early 1920?s at Parker School House in Iroquois County, Illinois. It was noted that the original school house burned down that year and the new faculty which was built lasted for over 37 years. The institute had a number of teachers since its inception in the early 1830?s, but it seems that Mrs. Shaw was the last know teacher as the last reported student enrollment was dated to 1941. The card shows vintage wear but still in excellent condition. These antique cards normally sell for $20 to $25, but as you can see the price reflects its condition and the card would still make an excellent addition to any vintage Valentine Card collection or a great piece for scrapbooking or it would work well in paper artworks (decoupage).
