Joe Beeler 1931- 2006 A founding member of Cowboy Artists of America, longtime Sedona resident, Joe Beeler has earned his place in the vanguard of contemporary Western art with one-man exhibitions at virtually every major Western art museum. A self confessed romantic, Joe strived to go beyond technique, conveying feeling and mood in both his painting and sculpture. Mr. Beeler died in 2006, at the age of 74. A true cowboy, he died in the saddle while working on a ranch with friends, branding calves. Joe was a pioneer in the field of western art for more than 4 decades. Born in Joplin, Missouri and raised in Oklahoma, he grew up in a family atmosphere rich in pioneer heritage and western individualism. His extensive body of work, including sculpture, oil paintings, watercolors and pen and ink drawings all shine with the wonder of Western life.
