We are an organisation with ambitions to make the most of our brand-new state of the art Hospice. To achieve this, we need to continue to grow our income, attract and retain the best people and ensure our services continue to remain relevant and valued.
No experience of hospice care is required, and you do not have to have held a trustee role previously. You will use your skills and experience gained from other sectors or roles, or your experience of supporting people at a most vulnerable time. Alongside your energy and enthusiasm, you will guide the charity to further success by providing governance to the organisation, contributing to our strategic future and acting as an ambassador for all aspects of our work throughout East Surrey and West Sussex.
We are looking for people to join our volunteer Board of Trustees. We believe our employees and volunteers should represent the community we work in and as such we welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds, including disabled candidates, people from ethnic minority backgrounds, LGBTQ+ as well as non-binary candidates and those who have experienced mental health problems.
We would particularly welcome applications from people with experience in IT, Legal, Clinical/Medical, Human Resources, Equality and Diversity, and Fundraising & Marketing roles, but these skills are not essential. Our Board of Trustees is richer when drawn from a broad range of backgrounds and experience. We offer a tailored induction, the opportunity to learn new skills and the satisfaction that you are helping people in your local community when they need it most.
We are hosting two Open Events on Monday 08 and Monday 15 January from 6-8pm, as an opportunity to meet our current Trustees, Chair Terry O'Leary and Giles Tomsett and the Senior Management Team.
Our closing date for receipt of completed application forms will be Sunday 04 February 2024.
Should we receive a lot of applications, we will need to shortlist based on the application and information you have provided. Please ensure your application includes all information you would like us to consider.
If you would like to apply, you can either contact Peter Nesbitt, our Head of Volunteering by emailing or by phoning , 08.30am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday (excl. Bank Holidays) for an application pack. Peter would be happy to talk through the role expectations
