Role: Trust & Tax Assistant
Salary: 27,000 - 28,000 per annum + performance related annual bonus

Do you have experience preparing Accounts and Self Assessment Tax Returns and HMRC online filing?
This role is within a well-established law firm in Tunbridge Wells, supporting the Private Client department by providing accounting and tax compliance service.
You would be responsible and proactive in the undertaking of various fee-generating tasks and responsibilities assigned by fee earners.
Duties to support the Trust and Tax management team by:
- Completing and auditing accounts for trusts and estates
- Preparing self-assessment tax returns for trusts, estates and individuals
- Preparing tax certificates for beneficiaries and assisting with tax reclaims
You would also be responsible for - meeting fee and chargeable hours targets, undertaking research tasks, taking new queries as necessary, proactively assisting with business development activities and supporting all members of the Trust and Tax management team, Probate divisions and wider Private Client team.
You will have the technical ability in preparing accounts and self-assessment tax returns with good knowledge of IT including: Accounting and Tax preparation software (CHH Trust Accounts / CCH Central personal tax knowledge) and outlook/word/excel programmes. You will be confident with HMRC online filing and using Client Management Systems.
