The Transport Supervisor is there to oversee and coordinate the transport dept, ensuring drivers are debriefed, consignments and credits are accurate, and forms are correctly filled. Daily operations must meet high-performance standards for audit readiness.
General duties include (but are not limited to):
Ensuring the smooth operation of allocated transport shift, managing resources for planned activity levelsSupervising driver debriefings, ensuring accurate completion of company documentsMaintaining cleanliness of vehicles and equipment, adhering to company standardsAssisting the night team manager in vehicle allocation and loading for the following dayPlanning drivers, vehicles, and routes for the next day using transport planning softwareMonitoring staff performance, providing feedback to shift manager, and identifying improvement opportunitiesEnforcing good management practices and processes for employee and customer health and safetyMaintaining equipment to company standards, recording and storing damages as per proceduresDeputising for line manager as needed and undertaking additional duties if required.Covering Transport Manager duties in their absence About you:
Previous supervisory experience within a fast-moving transport environment.Previous experience with planning, distribution softwareProven ability to lead and motivate transport teamsHave excellent communication skills both written and verbalProactively role models transport, health & safety and food safety legislation to ensure we are audit-ready at all timesBe a professional with inspirational, motivation and management skillsBe proactive and visualise the bigger pictureBe a team player within the peer and able to offer ideas and solutions to improve service to our customers How to apply for the role:
