Transport & Service Planner, Reading: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization's transportation department. Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective provision of service services.

Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the organisation's transportation department.Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.Drive vehicles as part of the initial training and also as an ongoing requirement when staffing levels are low.Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate transportation needs and optimise routes for maximum efficiency.Ensure compliance with local and national transportation regulations and safety standards.Manage a fleet of vehicles, including daily scheduling and route requirement.Supervise and train driving staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.Implement sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation practices where applicable.Monitor and analyse transportation costs, providing regular reports and recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.Establish and maintain relationships with external transportation partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies.Act as a liaison between the organisation and transportation stakeholders, fostering positive relationships.Implement and maintain tracking systems for inventory, shipments, and vehicle performance.Develop and update transportation policies and procedures in alignment with organisational goals. This being circa 37 hours across five days but Saturdays are considered a normal working day.You will be very good at analysis and planning as planning the routes for all the mini-busses each day is very complex and challenging.
