We are seeking a Transport Controller to play a vital role coordinating our logistics requirements ensuring the service and performance of the transport function is in line with customer's expectations.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure cost effective use of resources.• Arrange efficient delivery routes and dispatch of drivers.• Use of GPS Tracking systems to monitor driver routes and pre-empt any delay and source alternative if necessary and possible.• Act as first point of call for drivers.• Audit delivered goods for any inconsistencies or damages.• Collaborate with management to make the transport process more efficient (e.g limited damaged merchandise, loading errors and increase loading capacity.• Use of time management software to improve on-time performance and automation.• Create and maintain transportation paperwork, such as driver vehicle inspection reporting, trip reports and invoices.• Report and maintain key performance indicators regarding mileage, fuel, defects, on-time deliveries.• Maintain and respond to complaints or feedback from clients and drivers, directing them to suitable parties if necessary.• Review driver timesheets for payroll. Control and manage driver 's holiday requests and authorise if appropriate.• Document and manage all vehicle and driver compliance. Download vehicle and driver tacho cards. Analyse resulting data and get all relevant reports signed off.• Disciplinary process for breaches in company policy and continuous violations of the driver's rules and regulations as per the Road Traffic Act.
