Service Care Solutions, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence (MOD), is actively recruiting for two experienced Trainers for an 11-month contract. The role is based at HMS Sultan in Gosport, supporting the Defence School of Marine Engineering (DSMarE), which is part of the Defence College of Electro-mechanical Engineering (DCEME). As a Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering workshop theory, practical instruction to Service and Civilian trainees, and providing Subject Matter Expertise on the courses delivered.

Contract Length: 11 months

Location: 5 days a week on the ship in Gosport. No remote working. Radius for candidates ideally 25 miles outside of Southampton

Minimum Requirement: The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality training in line with Foundation Degree/Defence standards. Primary duties include conducting workshop theory and practical instruction, preparing course documentation, assessing and marking tests, liaising with external authorities, and contributing to the minor maintenance and repair of training equipment.

Skills/Experience:

Essential: Candidates should have served a recognised Fitting and Turning engineering apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training, with a Level 3 national qualification in Engineering or a closely related subject. A minimum of 5 years of recent relevant practical experience is required. OR Candidates who have completed UK Armed Forces Marine Engineering training at Senior Non-Commissioned Officer level with a proven track record of marine technical experience will also be considered.

Candidates must possess a recognised civilian teaching/Training qualification at Level 3 or higher (Cert Ed/DTLLS).

Desirable: A relevant Level 4 national qualification in Engineering or a closely related subject. Previous experience in a training/instructional role would be beneficial, but training in Defence instructional techniques will be provided for the successful applicant without prior experience.
