Our client, a leading business in the Financial Services industry is seeking a Trainee Underwriter to join them on a full-time, permanent basis.
Due to growth our client is looking to add a Trainee Underwriter to their team, where you will be working with an experienced and knowledgeable team of Underwriters, being offered thorough training whilst being responsible for approving timely and accurate finance loan products to customers.
This is the ideal role for someone with either Customer Service experience from a Retail or Hospitality background, or someone looking to transfer their experience in any field into the Financial Services industry. This is also ideal for someone leaving Education, looking for their first step into the Financial Services industry where all training will be provided.
Due to the location of the office candidates are required to have access to their own vehicle and a driving license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite referred deals to policy and mandate
- Make confident decisions in line with business rules and processes
- Investigate potential frauds, PEP and sanctions matches
- Keep paper and electronic filing up to date and in order
- Keep up to date with company products
Key Experience:
- A minimum of 1 years' experience in a customer service or Admin / Retail / Hospitality role
- Excellent customer service skills, used to liaising with clients both face to face and over the phone
- Able to work at a fast pace in a varied environment
- Confident maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail at all times
- Used to speak with colleagues and clients of all levels
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team, being the first point of contact for third parties and clients
