Description

There really are very few opportunities like this – for someone, without any previous general insurance experience, to train as a Corporate Insurance Broker – and this one is a real 'gem.'Our client, a well–established, boutique corporate insurance broker, arranges the insurance programmes for a wide range of commercial organisations spanning a multitude of industry sectors. Focusing on the more complex and lucrative area of the market, the company has clients paying insurance premiums of up to GBP500,000.Having fine–tuned a 'tried and tested' method of recruiting Trainees, this forward–thinking business has a comprehensive training programme that allows new recruits to work towards ultimately becoming a Corporate Account Executive (a client–facing, external Relationship Manager who oversees the insurance programmes of a portfolio of corporate entities, and earns a substantial salary and bonuses in return!)As part of your training, you will initially start as an Account Handler in an administrative capacity, where you will learn the nuances of insuring corporate organisations. Here, you'll learn about Property, Liability, Motor Fleet, Financial Lines and Cyber insurance (to name just a few insurance classes!), and you'll shadow Account Executives on client visits, in order to fully understand the insurance process and build strong relationships with your clients. You'll learn how to negotiate complex renewals, effectively broke new business cases, and negotiate with clients and insurers – all the fundamental skills required to be a successful Corporate Insurance Broker. You'll also be encouraged and fully funded to study professional insurance qualifications under the Chartered Insurance Institute, with the ultimate aim of becoming ACII (Advanced Diploma in Insurance) qualified – a highly prestigious accreditation within the industry. You'll enjoy working alongside some incredibly gifted insurance professionals, who have a great deal of knowledge and experience to share with you. Moreover, you'll also be trained by people who have been through this exact same process, whom will be committed to your success from day one.In order to succeed, you'll need to be well–organised, with strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism. You'll enjoy speaking to people and ideally, you'll have a desire to move into a client–facing role within the next few years. In order to learn the complexities of corporate insurance, you'll have a good academic background (ideally with a 2:1 degree as a minimum), and you'll have a genuine thirst for learning. You'll be rewarded with a starting salary of circa GBP22K – GBP30K plus a range of generous company benefits including a discretionary annual bonus, which could realistically be circa GBP2K – GBP3K. Once you ultimately become an Account Executive, you will be able to command a significant salary (we are regularly placing ACII qualified Account Executives on GBP70K+ salaries plus substantial bonuses). If you feel that you have the relevant skills to succeed in this role, and you are excited about carving a rewarding career in the lucrative world of corporate insurance, then don't hesitate to get in touch!Aston Charles – a personalised service from industry expertsGeneral Insurance and Financial Services RecruitmentFor more jobs like this, or for more information on how we may be able to help you in your search for a new job, please visit our website
